Healdsburg Senior Living is seeking an enthusiastic and well organized RN or LVN who has a passion for teaching peers in the post-acute rehabilitation environment serving the seniors of our community.
The Director of Staff Development (DSD) position is responsible for the facility based educational programming for all personnel. The DSD will plan, implement, direct and evaluate the educational program based on identified resident and staff needs as consistent with State and Federal regulatory requirements.
Licensure/Certification:
The DSD will have an active RN or LVN license in good standing with the state of California and hold a DSD certification from an accredited program, or be able to obtain certification within six months of employment.
Experience:
The DSD must have at least one year of nursing experience in a skilled nursing setting.
Essential job functions:
*Provide general orientation, mandatory in-services, continuing education, and other training to meet all department and facility needs and regulatory requirements.
*Perform competency skills to assess transfer of safety training to the workplace.
*Assist with new employee and current employee health examinations and tests as directed.
*Evaluate the direct work performance of nursing staff to ensure quality resident care and provide additional instruction in deficient areas.
*Ability to read, speak and understand English, follow directions and complete the assigned responsibilities of the department.
*Knowledge of basic educational techniques.
*Must be able to key information into computer systems.
*Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all facility staff members.
*Other duties as assigned by the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing.
Pay is commensurate with licensure and experience.
